Description

Almond Flour Chocolate Sugar Cookies are soft, rich, and slightly chewy cookies made with almond flour and cocoa powder for a gluten-free twist on a classic chocolate sugar cookie.

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups almond flour
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/3 cup coconut oil or unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar or coconut sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons milk (as needed for dough consistency)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together almond flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix melted coconut oil (or butter) with sugar until combined.
  4. Add egg and vanilla extract to the wet mixture and mix well.
  5. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients, stirring until a soft dough forms. Add milk if dough is too dry.
  6. Scoop tablespoon-sized portions onto the prepared baking sheet and gently flatten.
  7. Bake for 8–10 minutes until set around the edges.
  8. Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • Do not overbake; cookies will firm up as they cool.
  • Chill dough for 15 minutes if too soft to handle.
  • Use dairy-free butter for a fully dairy-free option.
  • Store in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
