Description
Bacon cheddar cheeseburger stuffed onion bombs are savory onion layers wrapped around seasoned beef and melted cheddar, all wrapped in bacon and baked to perfection.
Ingredients
- 2 large onions
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 8–10 slices bacon
- 1 tbsp ketchup (optional)
- 1 tbsp mustard (optional)
- Cooking spray or oil for greasing
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Cut onions in half and carefully separate into large layers.
- In a bowl, mix ground beef with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, ketchup, and mustard if using.
- Flatten a small portion of beef mixture and place shredded cheddar cheese in the center.
- Wrap beef around the cheese to form a ball.
- Wrap onion layers around each beef ball, covering completely.
- Wrap each onion bomb with bacon, securing ends underneath.
- Place seam-side down on a greased baking rack over a baking sheet.
- Bake for 35–45 minutes until bacon is crispy and beef is cooked through.
- Let rest 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
- Use thick-cut bacon for best results.
- Broil for 2–3 minutes at the end for extra crispy bacon.
- Serve with dipping sauces if desired.
