Description

Bacon cheddar cheeseburger stuffed onion bombs are savory onion layers wrapped around seasoned beef and melted cheddar, all wrapped in bacon and baked to perfection.


Ingredients

  • 2 large onions
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 810 slices bacon
  • 1 tbsp ketchup (optional)
  • 1 tbsp mustard (optional)
  • Cooking spray or oil for greasing


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Cut onions in half and carefully separate into large layers.
  3. In a bowl, mix ground beef with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, ketchup, and mustard if using.
  4. Flatten a small portion of beef mixture and place shredded cheddar cheese in the center.
  5. Wrap beef around the cheese to form a ball.
  6. Wrap onion layers around each beef ball, covering completely.
  7. Wrap each onion bomb with bacon, securing ends underneath.
  8. Place seam-side down on a greased baking rack over a baking sheet.
  9. Bake for 35–45 minutes until bacon is crispy and beef is cooked through.
  10. Let rest 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Use thick-cut bacon for best results.
  • Broil for 2–3 minutes at the end for extra crispy bacon.
