Description
Juicy baked prawns tossed with fresh lemon, olive oil, garlic, and herbs, finished with creamy, tangy feta cheese for a light yet flavorful Mediterranean-style dish.
Ingredients
- 600 g large prawns, peeled and deveined
- 3 tbsp olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 lemon, zested and juiced
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp chili flakes (optional)
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 100 g feta cheese, crumbled
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley or dill, chopped
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F).
- Place prawns in a baking dish in a single layer.
- In a bowl, mix olive oil, garlic, lemon zest, lemon juice, salt, pepper, chili flakes, and oregano.
- Pour the lemon mixture over the prawns and toss to coat evenly.
- Bake for 10–12 minutes until prawns are pink and cooked through.
- Remove from oven and sprinkle feta cheese evenly over the prawns.
- Return to oven for 2–3 minutes until feta softens slightly.
- Garnish with fresh herbs and serve immediately.
Notes
- Do not overbake prawns to keep them tender.
- Serve with crusty bread or over rice.
- Fresh lemon enhances the flavor significantly.
