Description

Juicy baked prawns tossed with fresh lemon, olive oil, garlic, and herbs, finished with creamy, tangy feta cheese for a light yet flavorful Mediterranean-style dish.


Ingredients

  • 600 g large prawns, peeled and deveined
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 lemon, zested and juiced
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp chili flakes (optional)
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 100 g feta cheese, crumbled
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley or dill, chopped


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F).
  2. Place prawns in a baking dish in a single layer.
  3. In a bowl, mix olive oil, garlic, lemon zest, lemon juice, salt, pepper, chili flakes, and oregano.
  4. Pour the lemon mixture over the prawns and toss to coat evenly.
  5. Bake for 10–12 minutes until prawns are pink and cooked through.
  6. Remove from oven and sprinkle feta cheese evenly over the prawns.
  7. Return to oven for 2–3 minutes until feta softens slightly.
  8. Garnish with fresh herbs and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Do not overbake prawns to keep them tender.
  • Serve with crusty bread or over rice.
  • Fresh lemon enhances the flavor significantly.
