Description
Soft and chewy banana oatmeal bars made with ripe bananas and wholesome oats, perfect for a healthy snack or quick breakfast.
Ingredients
- 2 ripe bananas, mashed
- 2 cups rolled oats
- 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup
- 1/4 cup milk or plant-based milk
- 1/4 cup melted butter or coconut oil
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup chopped nuts or chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, mash the bananas until smooth.
- Add honey or maple syrup, milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract to the bananas and mix well.
- Stir in oats, cinnamon, baking powder, and salt until fully combined.
- Fold in nuts or chocolate chips if using.
- Spread the mixture evenly into the prepared pan.
- Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until the top is set and lightly golden.
- Allow to cool completely before slicing into bars.
Notes
- Use very ripe bananas for natural sweetness.
- These bars can be stored in an airtight container for up to 4 days.
- They can also be frozen for longer storage.
