Description
Tender sea scallops seared in a rich buttery garlic sauce, finished with lemon for a quick and elegant seafood dish.
Ingredients
- 1 lb sea scallops, patted dry
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
- Lemon wedges for serving (optional)
Instructions
- Pat scallops dry with paper towels and season with salt and black pepper.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add scallops in a single layer and sear for 2–3 minutes per side until golden brown; remove and set aside.
- Reduce heat to medium and add butter to the skillet.
- Once melted, add garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Stir in lemon juice.
- Return scallops to the pan and spoon the garlic butter sauce over them.
- Cook for an additional 1 minute, then remove from heat.
- Garnish with chopped parsley and serve immediately.
Notes
- Do not overcrowd the pan to ensure proper searing.
- Overcooking scallops will make them rubbery.
- Serve with pasta, rice, or steamed vegetables.
