Description

A quick and healthy cabbage stir fry packed with simple flavors, lightly seasoned and sautéed to maintain a tender-crisp texture.


Ingredients

  • 4 cups cabbage, thinly sliced
  • 1 carrot, julienned
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili flakes (optional)
  • 2 green onions, chopped


Instructions

  1. Heat vegetable oil in a large pan or wok over medium-high heat.
  2. Add garlic and ginger, sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Add cabbage and carrot, stir-fry for 4–5 minutes until slightly softened but still crisp.
  4. Pour in soy sauce and mix well.
  5. Drizzle sesame oil and add black pepper and chili flakes.
  6. Continue cooking for another 2–3 minutes.
  7. Remove from heat and garnish with green onions.
  8. Serve hot as a side or light main dish.

Notes

  • Do not overcook to keep vegetables crisp.
  • Add tofu or chicken for protein.
  • Use low-sodium soy sauce to reduce salt.
  • A splash of rice vinegar enhances flavor.
