Description
A quick and healthy cabbage stir fry packed with simple flavors, lightly seasoned and sautéed to maintain a tender-crisp texture.
Ingredients
- 4 cups cabbage, thinly sliced
- 1 carrot, julienned
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon grated ginger
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon chili flakes (optional)
- 2 green onions, chopped
Instructions
- Heat vegetable oil in a large pan or wok over medium-high heat.
- Add garlic and ginger, sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add cabbage and carrot, stir-fry for 4–5 minutes until slightly softened but still crisp.
- Pour in soy sauce and mix well.
- Drizzle sesame oil and add black pepper and chili flakes.
- Continue cooking for another 2–3 minutes.
- Remove from heat and garnish with green onions.
- Serve hot as a side or light main dish.
Notes
- Do not overcook to keep vegetables crisp.
- Add tofu or chicken for protein.
- Use low-sodium soy sauce to reduce salt.
- A splash of rice vinegar enhances flavor.
