Description
Cheesy taco pinwheels are a fun and flavorful appetizer made with seasoned cream cheese, taco spices, shredded cheese, and tortillas rolled and sliced into bite-sized spirals.
Ingredients
- 4 large flour tortillas
- 8 oz (225 g) cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup shredded cheddar or Mexican-blend cheese
- 1/2 cup cooked ground beef or ground turkey
- 2 tbsp taco seasoning
- 1/4 cup salsa, drained
- 2 tbsp sour cream
- 2 tbsp chopped green onions
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix cream cheese, sour cream, taco seasoning, and salsa until smooth.
- Stir in shredded cheese, cooked ground meat, and green onions.
- Lay tortillas flat and spread the mixture evenly over each tortilla.
- Roll tortillas tightly into logs.
- Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
- Remove from fridge, unwrap, and slice into 1-inch pinwheels.
- Serve chilled or at room temperature.
Notes
- For a vegetarian version, omit meat and add black beans or corn.
- Drain salsa well to avoid soggy pinwheels.
- Serve with extra salsa or guacamole for dipping.
