Description

Cheesy taco pinwheels are a fun and flavorful appetizer made with seasoned cream cheese, taco spices, shredded cheese, and tortillas rolled and sliced into bite-sized spirals.


Ingredients

  • 4 large flour tortillas
  • 8 oz (225 g) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar or Mexican-blend cheese
  • 1/2 cup cooked ground beef or ground turkey
  • 2 tbsp taco seasoning
  • 1/4 cup salsa, drained
  • 2 tbsp sour cream
  • 2 tbsp chopped green onions


Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix cream cheese, sour cream, taco seasoning, and salsa until smooth.
  2. Stir in shredded cheese, cooked ground meat, and green onions.
  3. Lay tortillas flat and spread the mixture evenly over each tortilla.
  4. Roll tortillas tightly into logs.
  5. Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
  6. Remove from fridge, unwrap, and slice into 1-inch pinwheels.
  7. Serve chilled or at room temperature.

Notes

  • For a vegetarian version, omit meat and add black beans or corn.
  • Drain salsa well to avoid soggy pinwheels.
