Description
Classic chicken cordon bleu made with tender chicken breasts stuffed with cheese and halal turkey ham, breaded and baked until golden and crispy.
Ingredients
- 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
- 4 slices halal turkey ham
- 4 slices Swiss or mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 large egg
- 1 tablespoon milk
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 2 tablespoons olive oil or melted butter
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F) and lightly grease a baking dish.
- Place chicken breasts between plastic wrap and pound to even thickness.
- Season chicken with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
- Place one slice of turkey ham and one slice of cheese on each chicken breast, then roll tightly.
- Secure with toothpicks if needed.
- Dredge each roll in flour, then dip in beaten egg mixed with milk, and coat with breadcrumbs.
- Place chicken rolls seam-side down in the baking dish.
- Brush tops with olive oil or melted butter.
- Bake for 30–35 minutes until golden brown and chicken is fully cooked.
- Remove toothpicks before serving.
Notes
- For extra crispiness, you can pan-sear the chicken for 2 minutes before baking.
- Serve with mashed potatoes or steamed vegetables.
- Let rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
