Description

Classic chicken cordon bleu made with tender chicken breasts stuffed with cheese and halal turkey ham, breaded and baked until golden and crispy.


Ingredients

  • 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 4 slices halal turkey ham
  • 4 slices Swiss or mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon milk
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil or melted butter


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F) and lightly grease a baking dish.
  2. Place chicken breasts between plastic wrap and pound to even thickness.
  3. Season chicken with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  4. Place one slice of turkey ham and one slice of cheese on each chicken breast, then roll tightly.
  5. Secure with toothpicks if needed.
  6. Dredge each roll in flour, then dip in beaten egg mixed with milk, and coat with breadcrumbs.
  7. Place chicken rolls seam-side down in the baking dish.
  8. Brush tops with olive oil or melted butter.
  9. Bake for 30–35 minutes until golden brown and chicken is fully cooked.
  10. Remove toothpicks before serving.

Notes

  • For extra crispiness, you can pan-sear the chicken for 2 minutes before baking.
  • Serve with mashed potatoes or steamed vegetables.
  • Let rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
