Description
A hearty and comforting chicken parmesan pasta made with crispy breaded chicken, tender pasta, rich marinara sauce, and melted cheese all tossed together in one satisfying dish.
Ingredients
- 2 boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 large egg
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 8 oz pasta (penne or rotini)
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
- Fresh basil or parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Cook pasta according to package instructions, drain, and set aside.
- Season chicken with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
- Dredge chicken pieces in flour, dip in beaten egg, then coat with breadcrumbs.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and cook chicken until golden and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add marinara sauce and Italian seasoning; simmer for 5 minutes.
- Add cooked pasta and crispy chicken to the sauce and toss to combine.
- Transfer mixture to a baking dish.
- Top with mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
- Bake at 190°C (375°F) for 15–20 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Garnish with fresh herbs and serve warm.
Notes
- You can use grilled chicken for a lighter version.
- Whole wheat pasta works well for added fiber.
- Serve with a side salad or garlic bread.
