Description

A moist and rich homemade chocolate cake with deep chocolate flavor, perfect for celebrations or everyday dessert.


Ingredients

  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup hot water or hot coffee


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Add eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla extract. Beat until smooth.
  4. Slowly stir in hot water or coffee until the batter is thin and well combined.
  5. Pour batter evenly into prepared pans.
  6. Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  7. Cool cakes in pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  8. Frost as desired and serve.

Notes

  • Using hot coffee enhances the chocolate flavor.
