Description

A decadent chocolate lava cake with a rich, molten chocolate center and tender cake exterior, perfect for an indulgent dessert.


Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 4 oz semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 large egg yolks
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • Pinch of salt
  • Butter and cocoa powder for greasing ramekins


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C) and grease four ramekins with butter; dust with cocoa powder.
  2. Melt butter and chocolate together in a heatproof bowl until smooth.
  3. Whisk powdered sugar into the chocolate mixture.
  4. Add eggs, egg yolks, and vanilla extract; whisk until combined.
  5. Fold in flour and salt just until incorporated.
  6. Divide batter evenly among prepared ramekins.
  7. Bake for 12–14 minutes, until edges are set but centers remain soft.
  8. Let rest for 1 minute, then invert onto plates.
  9. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Do not overbake or the center will not be molten.
  • Serve with vanilla ice cream or fresh berries.
