Ingredients
- 12 lasagna noodles
- 2 cups cooked ham, diced or sliced
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 3 tbsp butter
- 3 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 3 cups milk
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp nutmeg (optional)
- 1 tbsp olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook lasagna noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add garlic and cook briefly.
- Stir in flour and cook for 1–2 minutes to form a roux.
- Gradually whisk in milk, stirring constantly until thickened.
- Season with salt, pepper, and nutmeg. Remove from heat.
- Lightly grease a baking dish with olive oil.
- Spread a layer of sauce, then noodles, ham, mozzarella, and Parmesan.
- Repeat layers, finishing with sauce and remaining cheese on top.
- Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
- Remove foil and bake an additional 10–15 minutes until golden and bubbly.
- Let rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
- Use leftover ham for convenience.
- Add spinach or mushrooms for extra flavor.
- Letting the lasagna rest helps it set for cleaner slices.
- Can be assembled ahead and refrigerated before baking.
