Description

Crispy Cabbage Burger Bake is a hearty low-carb casserole featuring seasoned ground beef layered with tender cabbage and topped with melted cheese for a comforting, oven-baked meal.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 4 cups green cabbage, shredded
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×9-inch baking dish.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add onion and cook until softened, about 3–4 minutes.
  3. Add ground beef, garlic, salt, pepper, paprika, and oregano. Cook until beef is browned and fully cooked. Drain excess fat if needed.
  4. Stir in shredded cabbage and cook for 3–4 minutes until slightly softened.
  5. Transfer the beef and cabbage mixture to the prepared baking dish and spread evenly.
  6. In a small bowl, mix mayonnaise and Dijon mustard, then spread lightly over the top.
  7. Sprinkle cheddar and mozzarella cheese evenly over the casserole.
  8. Bake for 20–25 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  9. Broil for 2–3 minutes at the end for a crispy golden top.
  10. Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For extra crunch, add crushed pork rinds on top before baking.
  • Swap cheddar for pepper jack for a spicy version.
  • Leftovers store well in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
