Description

Stuffed Chocolate Pancakes are soft, fluffy pancakes filled with a gooey chocolate center, perfect for a decadent breakfast or dessert.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup (125 g) all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 large egg
  • 3/4 cup (180 ml) milk
  • 1 tbsp melted butter or vegetable oil
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup chocolate spread or chocolate chips (for filling)
  • Butter or oil for cooking
  • Powdered sugar or syrup for serving (optional)


Instructions

  1. In a bowl whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  2. In another bowl whisk the egg, milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
  3. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Do not overmix.
  4. Heat a nonstick skillet over medium heat and lightly grease with butter or oil.
  5. Pour about 2 tablespoons of batter onto the skillet to form a small pancake.
  6. Add about 1 teaspoon of chocolate spread or a few chocolate chips in the center.
  7. Cover the chocolate with another small spoonful of batter.
  8. Cook for 2–3 minutes until bubbles appear and the bottom is set, then flip carefully.
  9. Cook another 2 minutes until the pancake is cooked through.
  10. Serve warm with powdered sugar, syrup, or extra chocolate drizzle.

Notes

  • Make sure the chocolate filling stays in the center so it does not leak while cooking.
  • Cook on medium heat to avoid burning the pancakes before the inside cooks.
  • You can freeze small dollops of chocolate spread beforehand to make stuffing easier.
  • Top with fresh berries, whipped cream, or sliced bananas for extra flavor.
