Description
An elegant surf-and-turf dish featuring tender filet mignon paired with buttery shrimp and lobster, finished with garlic butter for a luxurious steakhouse-style meal.
Ingredients
- 2 filet mignon steaks (6–8 oz each)
- 2 lobster tails, split
- 8 large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon fresh rosemary, chopped
- 1 teaspoon fresh thyme, chopped
- Salt to taste
- Black pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Remove steaks from refrigerator 30 minutes before cooking and season generously with salt and black pepper.
- Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in a cast-iron skillet over high heat.
- Sear filet mignon for 3–4 minutes per side for medium-rare, then remove and rest under foil.
- In the same skillet, add 1 tablespoon olive oil and 2 tablespoons butter.
- Add garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add shrimp and cook 1–2 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove and set aside.
- Add lobster tails, flesh-side down, and cook for 3–4 minutes, basting with butter.
- Return shrimp to pan, add remaining butter, lemon juice, rosemary, and thyme.
- Spoon garlic butter over seafood.
- Serve filet mignon topped with shrimp and lobster, garnished with parsley.
Notes
- Use a meat thermometer for accuracy (130°F / 54°C for medium-rare).
- Can be grilled instead of pan-seared.
- Serve with mashed potatoes or steamed asparagus.
