Description

An elegant surf-and-turf dish featuring tender filet mignon paired with buttery shrimp and lobster, finished with garlic butter for a luxurious steakhouse-style meal.

Ingredients

  • 2 filet mignon steaks (68 oz each)
  • 2 lobster tails, split
  • 8 large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh rosemary, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme, chopped
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Remove steaks from refrigerator 30 minutes before cooking and season generously with salt and black pepper.
  2. Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in a cast-iron skillet over high heat.
  3. Sear filet mignon for 3–4 minutes per side for medium-rare, then remove and rest under foil.
  4. In the same skillet, add 1 tablespoon olive oil and 2 tablespoons butter.
  5. Add garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  6. Add shrimp and cook 1–2 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove and set aside.
  7. Add lobster tails, flesh-side down, and cook for 3–4 minutes, basting with butter.
  8. Return shrimp to pan, add remaining butter, lemon juice, rosemary, and thyme.
  9. Spoon garlic butter over seafood.
  10. Serve filet mignon topped with shrimp and lobster, garnished with parsley.

Notes

  • Use a meat thermometer for accuracy (130°F / 54°C for medium-rare).
  • Can be grilled instead of pan-seared.
  • Serve with mashed potatoes or steamed asparagus.
