Ingredients
- 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 cup whole-milk ricotta cheese
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3 large eggs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (optional)
- Powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a Bundt pan well.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Mix in ricotta cheese and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Alternate adding dry ingredients and milk, mixing just until combined.
- Fold in chocolate chips if using.
- Pour batter evenly into prepared Bundt pan.
- Bake for 45–55 minutes until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Cool cake in pan for 15 minutes, then invert onto a wire rack.
- Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
