Ingredients

  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup whole-milk ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (optional)
  • Powdered sugar for dusting


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a Bundt pan well.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  5. Mix in ricotta cheese and vanilla extract until smooth.
  6. Alternate adding dry ingredients and milk, mixing just until combined.
  7. Fold in chocolate chips if using.
  8. Pour batter evenly into prepared Bundt pan.
  9. Bake for 45–55 minutes until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  10. Cool cake in pan for 15 minutes, then invert onto a wire rack.
  11. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
