Description

A festive roasted Christmas ham glazed with honey, fresh rosemary, and warm spices, creating a sweet and savory centerpiece perfect for holiday celebrations.

Ingredients

  • 8 lb bone-in ham
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh rosemary, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth or water

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C).
  2. Place the ham in a roasting pan, flat side down.
  3. In a bowl, mix honey, brown sugar, Dijon mustard, olive oil, garlic, rosemary, pepper, and cloves.
  4. Brush half of the glaze evenly over the ham.
  5. Pour chicken broth or water into the bottom of the roasting pan.
  6. Cover loosely with foil and roast for 1 hour.
  7. Remove foil, brush with remaining glaze, and continue roasting for another 60–75 minutes, basting occasionally.
  8. Roast until the ham is heated through and caramelized on the outside.
  9. Remove from oven and let rest for 15 minutes before slicing.
  10. Slice and serve warm.

Notes

  • Basting helps keep the ham moist and flavorful.
  • Fresh rosemary provides the best aroma, but dried can be used if needed.
  • Leftovers are excellent for sandwiches or omelets.
