Description

Monte Cristo Sliders are mini baked sandwiches made with soft rolls stuffed with ham, turkey, and Swiss cheese, brushed with a buttery Dijon glaze and baked until warm and melty, then lightly dusted with powdered sugar for a sweet-savory finish.


Ingredients

  • 12 slider rolls (Hawaiian rolls)
  • 6 slices deli ham
  • 6 slices deli turkey
  • 6 slices Swiss cheese
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • Powdered sugar, for topping
  • Raspberry jam or preserves, for serving (optional)


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a baking dish.
  2. Slice the slider rolls in half horizontally and place the bottom halves in the baking dish.
  3. Layer ham, turkey, and Swiss cheese evenly over the rolls. Place the top halves of the rolls on top.
  4. In a small bowl, whisk together melted butter, Dijon mustard, honey, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  5. Brush the butter mixture evenly over the tops of the sliders.
  6. Cover with foil and bake for 15 minutes.
  7. Remove foil and bake an additional 5–10 minutes, until the tops are golden and the cheese is melted.
  8. Remove from oven, let cool slightly, then dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

  • Serve with raspberry jam for a classic Monte Cristo touch.
  • You can substitute Gruyère for Swiss cheese if desired.
  • Best enjoyed warm and fresh from the oven.
