Description

Oven Baked Dill Pickle Chicken Wings are crispy, tangy, and flavorful wings marinated in dill pickle juice, seasoned with herbs and spices, then baked to golden perfection.

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs chicken wings, split and tips removed
  • 1 cup dill pickle juice
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried dill
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder (for crispiness)
  • Fresh dill for garnish (optional)
  • Ranch or blue cheese dressing for serving (optional)

Instructions

  1. Place chicken wings in a large bowl or zip-top bag and pour dill pickle juice over them. Marinate in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours or up to 8 hours.
  2. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with foil and place a wire rack on top. Lightly grease the rack.
  3. Drain wings and pat completely dry with paper towels.
  4. In a bowl, toss wings with olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, dried dill, smoked paprika, black pepper, salt, and baking powder until evenly coated.
  5. Arrange wings in a single layer on the wire rack.
  6. Bake for 40–45 minutes, flipping halfway through, until wings are crispy and internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  7. Broil for 2–3 minutes at the end if extra crispiness is desired.
  8. Garnish with fresh dill and serve with ranch or blue cheese dressing.

Notes

  • Patting the wings completely dry is key for crispiness.
  • Do not substitute baking soda for baking powder.
  • Marinating overnight enhances the pickle flavor.
  • Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheat in the oven.
