Description

Crispy oven baked sweet potato fries seasoned with simple spices, a healthier alternative to deep-fried fries and perfect as a snack or side dish.


Ingredients

  • 2 large sweet potatoes, peeled and cut into fries
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon cornstarch (optional, for extra crispiness)


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 220°C (425°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Soak the cut sweet potatoes in cold water for 30 minutes, then drain and pat dry thoroughly.
  3. Place sweet potatoes in a large bowl and toss with olive oil.
  4. Add paprika, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and cornstarch if using. Toss until evenly coated.
  5. Spread the fries in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet without overcrowding.
  6. Bake for 15 minutes, then flip the fries.
  7. Return to the oven and bake for another 15–20 minutes until golden and crispy.
  8. Remove from the oven and serve hot.

Notes

  • Do not overcrowd the pan to ensure crisp fries.
  • Serve with ketchup, yogurt dip, or garlic sauce.
