Description
Crispy oven baked sweet potato fries seasoned with simple spices, a healthier alternative to deep-fried fries and perfect as a snack or side dish.
Ingredients
- 2 large sweet potatoes, peeled and cut into fries
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon cornstarch (optional, for extra crispiness)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 220°C (425°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Soak the cut sweet potatoes in cold water for 30 minutes, then drain and pat dry thoroughly.
- Place sweet potatoes in a large bowl and toss with olive oil.
- Add paprika, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and cornstarch if using. Toss until evenly coated.
- Spread the fries in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet without overcrowding.
- Bake for 15 minutes, then flip the fries.
- Return to the oven and bake for another 15–20 minutes until golden and crispy.
- Remove from the oven and serve hot.
Notes
- Do not overcrowd the pan to ensure crisp fries.
- Serve with ketchup, yogurt dip, or garlic sauce.
- Best enjoyed immediately after baking.
