Description

A smooth and creamy Italian panna cotta made with milk, cream, and vanilla, gently set using agar-agar for a vegetarian-friendly dessert.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon agar-agar powder
  • Fresh berries or fruit sauce for topping (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, mix agar-agar powder with 2 tablespoons of the milk and set aside.
  2. In a saucepan, combine heavy cream, remaining milk, and sugar.
  3. Heat over medium heat, stirring until sugar is fully dissolved.
  4. Add the agar-agar mixture and bring to a gentle boil, stirring constantly.
  5. Simmer for 2–3 minutes to activate the agar-agar.
  6. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
  7. Pour the mixture into serving molds or ramekins.
  8. Let cool at room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours until set.
  9. Unmold or serve directly with fresh berries or fruit sauce.

Notes
