Ingredients
- 1 lb fresh spinach (or 10 oz frozen spinach, thawed and drained)
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- Cooking spray or extra butter for greasing
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a baking dish.
- If using fresh spinach, sauté it in a pan over medium heat until wilted, then drain excess liquid. If using frozen spinach, ensure it is fully thawed and squeezed dry.
- Spread the spinach evenly in the prepared baking dish.
- In a small bowl, mix the Parmesan cheese, breadcrumbs, melted butter, garlic, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes.
- Sprinkle the Parmesan mixture evenly over the spinach.
- Bake for 18–22 minutes until the topping is golden and crispy.
- Serve hot as a side dish.
Notes
- For extra richness, add a tablespoon of cream or cream cheese to the spinach.
- Can be made ahead and baked just before serving.
