Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar (for coating)
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional, for coating)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a donut pan or lightly spray it with non-stick cooking spray.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, 1/2 cup sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon (if using).
- In a separate bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract until well combined.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Spoon the batter into the prepared donut pan, filling each mold about 3/4 full.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of a donut comes out clean.
- While the donuts are baking, mix 1/2 cup sugar and cinnamon (if using) in a shallow bowl.
- Once the donuts are done, allow them to cool slightly before removing them from the pan.
- While the donuts are still warm, roll them in the sugar mixture to coat them evenly.
- Serve immediately or store in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
Notes
- If you don’t have a donut pan, you can make these as donut holes by using a mini muffin pan.
- For extra flavor, you can add a dash of nutmeg to the batter or drizzle with a simple glaze.
- These are best enjoyed fresh, but you can freeze them for later use.
