Description

Sizzling Bourbon BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger Meatball Subs are indulgent sandwiches loaded with juicy beef meatballs, smoky bacon, melted cheese, and a sweet bourbon BBQ glaze, all tucked into toasted sub rolls.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 6 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 1 cup bourbon BBQ sauce
  • 1/4 cup bourbon (optional)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 4 sub rolls
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons chopped pickles (optional)


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and smoked paprika.
  3. Form mixture into evenly sized meatballs.
  4. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and brown meatballs on all sides.
  5. Transfer meatballs to a baking dish.
  6. Mix BBQ sauce with bourbon (if using) and pour over meatballs.
  7. Bake uncovered for 15–20 minutes until meatballs are fully cooked.
  8. Toast sub rolls lightly.
  9. Fill rolls with meatballs and sauce, top with bacon and shredded cheese.
  10. Return assembled subs to oven for 5 minutes until cheese melts.
  11. Add pickles if desired and serve hot.
