Description
A hearty, family-friendly casserole that combines classic Sloppy Joe flavors made with Manwich sauce, seasoned ground beef, pasta, and melted cheese baked until bubbly.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 small onion, diced
- 1 green bell pepper, diced
- 1 can (15 oz) Manwich Original Sloppy Joe Sauce
- 2 cups cooked elbow macaroni
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- Cooking spray or 1 tablespoon oil for greasing
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a baking dish.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef until browned; drain excess fat.
- Add diced onion and bell pepper to the skillet and cook for 3–4 minutes until softened.
- Stir in Manwich sauce, garlic powder, and black pepper; simmer for 5 minutes.
- Add cooked macaroni to the meat mixture and stir until well combined.
- Transfer mixture to the prepared baking dish.
- Top evenly with cheddar and mozzarella cheese.
- Bake uncovered for 20–25 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
- Substitute ground turkey for a lighter version.
- Add a pinch of chili flakes for extra heat.
- Leftovers reheat well and can be frozen.
