Description

A classic surf-and-turf dish featuring tender, pan-seared steak served with juicy shrimp in a rich and creamy garlic Parmesan sauce.


Ingredients

  • 2 beef steaks (ribeye or sirloin, about 8 oz / 225 g each)
  • 1/2 lb (225 g) large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • Salt, to taste
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)


Instructions

  1. Season the steaks with salt, pepper, and paprika on both sides.
  2. Heat 1 tbsp olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Sear steaks for 3–5 minutes per side until desired doneness; remove from skillet and let rest.
  4. In the same skillet, add remaining olive oil and 1 tbsp butter.
  5. Add shrimp and cook for 1–2 minutes per side until pink; remove and set aside.
  6. Add remaining butter and garlic to the skillet and sauté until fragrant.
  7. Pour in beef broth and simmer for 2–3 minutes, scraping up browned bits.
  8. Stir in heavy cream and Parmesan cheese; simmer until sauce thickens.
  9. Return shrimp to the pan and coat with sauce.
  10. Serve steaks topped with creamy shrimp sauce and garnish with parsley.

  • Allow steaks to rest before slicing to keep them juicy.
  • Avoid overcooking shrimp as they become rubbery.
