Ingredients

  • 400g beef steak tips (sirloin or flank), cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 200g mushrooms, sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon thyme (dried or fresh)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)


Instructions

  1. Season steak tips with salt, pepper, and thyme.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Add steak tips in a single layer and sear for 2-3 minutes per side until browned. Remove and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, melt butter and add sliced onions. Cook for 5-6 minutes until softened and slightly caramelized.
  5. Add mushrooms and cook for another 4-5 minutes until browned and tender.
  6. Stir in garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
  7. Pour in beef broth and Worcestershire sauce, scraping up any browned bits from the pan.
  8. Return steak tips to the skillet and simmer for 2-3 minutes until heated through and coated in the sauce.
  9. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve immediately.
