Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for frosting)
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter, softened (for frosting)
  • 1-2 tbsp milk (for frosting)
  • Pink food coloring (optional)
  • Heart sprinkles for decoration


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, mix melted butter and sugar until smooth.
  3. Add eggs and vanilla extract; whisk until combined.
  4. Stir in cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder.
  5. Fold in chocolate chips.
  6. Spread batter evenly into prepared pan.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes until a toothpick inserted comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  8. Cool completely before frosting.
  9. For frosting, beat powdered sugar, softened butter, milk, and food coloring until smooth.
  10. Spread frosting over cooled brownies and decorate with heart sprinkles.
  11. Cut into squares or heart shapes and serve.
