Description

Chocolate Fudge Cake is a rich, moist, and intensely chocolatey dessert with a soft crumb and decadent fudge frosting, perfect for celebrations or indulgent treats.


Ingredients

  • 1 and 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 and 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 and 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup hot coffee or hot water
  • 1 cup unsalted butter (for frosting)
  • 3/4 cup cocoa powder (for frosting)
  • 3 cups powdered sugar (for frosting)
  • 1/2 cup milk (for frosting)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract (for frosting)


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 175°C (350°F) and grease two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a large bowl, sift together flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Add eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla extract. Beat until smooth.
  4. Stir in hot coffee or water until the batter is thin.
  5. Divide batter evenly between prepared pans.
  6. Bake for 30–35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  7. Let cakes cool completely before frosting.
  8. For frosting, beat butter until creamy, then add cocoa powder and mix well.
  9. Add powdered sugar gradually, alternating with milk, until smooth and spreadable.
  10. Stir in vanilla extract.
  11. Spread frosting between layers and over the top and sides of the cake.
  12. Slice and serve.

Notes

  • Hot coffee enhances the chocolate flavor but can be replaced with hot water.
  • Do not overbake to keep the cake moist.
  • Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
  • Add chocolate chips for extra richness.
