An ultra-moist chocolate sheet cake topped with fluffy whipped cream and rich chocolate ganache—perfect for parties, celebrations, or an indulgent dessert.
Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 3/4 cup cocoa powder
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup hot coffee or hot water
- 1 cup heavy cream (for whipped cream)
- 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup heavy cream (for ganache)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F) and grease a sheet cake pan.
- In a large bowl, whisk flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Add eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla extract. Mix until combined.
- Slowly stir in hot coffee or water until batter is smooth.
- Pour batter into the prepared pan.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Let cake cool completely.
- Whip 1 cup heavy cream with powdered sugar until soft peaks form and spread over cooled cake.
- Heat 1/2 cup heavy cream until warm and pour over chocolate chips. Stir until smooth to make ganache.
- Drizzle ganache over whipped cream topping.
- Chill slightly before slicing and serving.
Notes
- Hot coffee enhances chocolate flavor without making the cake taste like coffee.
- Do not overmix the batter.
- Cool cake fully before adding whipped cream.
- Store in the fridge for up to 4 days.
