Ingredients

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons instant yeast
  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup softened butter (for filling)
  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 3 tablespoons milk (for glaze)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract


Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, salt, and yeast.
  2. Add warm milk, melted butter, and eggs. Mix and knead into a smooth dough.
  3. Cover and let rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  4. Roll dough into a large rectangle on a floured surface.
  5. Spread softened butter over the dough.
  6. Mix brown sugar and cinnamon, then sprinkle evenly over the buttered dough.
  7. Roll the dough tightly into a log and slice into rolls.
  8. Place rolls into a greased baking dish and let rise for another 20-30 minutes.
  9. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).
  10. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  11. Mix powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract to make the glaze.
  12. Drizzle glaze over warm cinnamon rolls before serving.

Notes

  • Use warm—not hot—milk to properly activate yeast.
  • Do not overbake to keep rolls soft and fluffy.
  • Add cream cheese frosting for extra richness.
  • Best served warm.
