Description

A quick and flavorful beef and broccoli stir-fry featuring tender beef slices and crisp broccoli coated in a savory garlic soy sauce—better than takeout and ready in minutes.

Ingredients

  • 400g beef sirloin or flank steak, thinly sliced
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon brown sugar

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, toss beef with soy sauce and cornstarch. Let marinate for 10 minutes.
  2. Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a wok or skillet over high heat.
  3. Add beef and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until browned. Remove and set aside.
  4. In the same pan, add remaining oil, garlic, and ginger. Sauté for 30 seconds.
  5. Add broccoli and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until tender-crisp.
  6. Return beef to the pan.
  7. Pour in beef broth, oyster sauce, and brown sugar. Stir well.
  8. Cook for 2-3 minutes until sauce thickens slightly.
  9. Drizzle with sesame oil if using and mix well.
  10. Serve hot with rice or noodles.

Notes

  • Slice beef thinly against the grain for tenderness.
  • Blanch broccoli briefly for softer texture if preferred.
  • Use high heat for authentic stir-fry flavor.
  • Add chili flakes for extra spice.
  • Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days.
