Description

A luxurious surf and turf dinner featuring juicy steak and succulent shrimp, both coated in a rich garlic butter sauce for a restaurant-quality meal at home.

Ingredients

  • 2 ribeye or sirloin steaks
  • 1/2 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme or parsley, chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Season steaks with salt, pepper, and paprika.
  2. Heat 2 tablespoons olive oil in a skillet over high heat.
  3. Sear steaks for 3–4 minutes per side until desired doneness. Remove and let rest.
  4. In the same pan, add 1 tablespoon olive oil and cook shrimp for 1–2 minutes per side until pink. Remove and set aside.
  5. Reduce heat to medium and melt butter in the skillet.
  6. Add garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
  7. Stir in lemon juice and herbs.
  8. Return steak and shrimp to the pan, spooning garlic butter over the top.
  9. Cook for another 1–2 minutes to heat through.
  10. Serve immediately, drizzled with extra garlic butter sauce.

Notes

  • Use a cast iron skillet for the best sear on steak.
  • Do not overcook shrimp to keep them tender.
  • Let steak rest before slicing to retain juices.
  • Serve with mashed potatoes, rice, or vegetables.
  • Add chili flakes for a spicy kick.
