Description
A luxurious surf and turf dinner featuring juicy steak and succulent shrimp, both coated in a rich garlic butter sauce for a restaurant-quality meal at home.
Ingredients
- 2 ribeye or sirloin steaks
- 1/2 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon fresh thyme or parsley, chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
Instructions
- Season steaks with salt, pepper, and paprika.
- Heat 2 tablespoons olive oil in a skillet over high heat.
- Sear steaks for 3–4 minutes per side until desired doneness. Remove and let rest.
- In the same pan, add 1 tablespoon olive oil and cook shrimp for 1–2 minutes per side until pink. Remove and set aside.
- Reduce heat to medium and melt butter in the skillet.
- Add garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Stir in lemon juice and herbs.
- Return steak and shrimp to the pan, spooning garlic butter over the top.
- Cook for another 1–2 minutes to heat through.
- Serve immediately, drizzled with extra garlic butter sauce.
Notes
- Use a cast iron skillet for the best sear on steak.
- Do not overcook shrimp to keep them tender.
- Let steak rest before slicing to retain juices.
- Serve with mashed potatoes, rice, or vegetables.
- Add chili flakes for a spicy kick.
