Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 175°C (350°F) and grease a sheet cake pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk flour, sugar, salt, and baking soda.
  3. In a saucepan, combine butter, water, and cocoa powder. Heat until melted and smooth.
  4. Pour chocolate mixture into the dry ingredients and mix well.
  5. Add buttermilk, eggs, and vanilla extract. Stir until combined.
