Description

Warm Greek-style pita stuffed with seasoned beef, fresh vegetables, and a creamy lemon garlic yogurt sauce—flavorful, juicy, and perfect for an easy Mediterranean meal.

Ingredients

  • 500g ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 pita breads
  • 1 cup lettuce, shredded
  • 1 tomato, diced
  • 1/2 cucumber, sliced
  • 1/4 red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup Greek yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 clove garlic, minced (for sauce)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley or dill, chopped

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks.
  3. Stir in oregano, paprika, cumin, salt, pepper, and minced garlic.
  4. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until fragrant and fully cooked.
  5. In a bowl, mix Greek yogurt, lemon juice, garlic, and parsley or dill to make the sauce.
  6. Warm pita breads slightly.
  7. Fill each pita with lettuce, tomato, cucumber, and red onion.
  8. Add seasoned beef into the pita.
  9. Drizzle generously with lemon garlic yogurt sauce.
  10. Serve warm.

Notes

  • Use lamb instead of beef for a more traditional Greek flavor.
  • Add feta cheese for extra richness.
  • Serve with fries or a Greek salad.
  • Warm pita makes it softer and easier to fold.
  • Store leftover beef in the fridge for up to 3 days.
