Ingredients
- 500g ground beef
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 4 pita breads
- 1 cup lettuce, shredded
- 1 tomato, diced
- 1/2 cucumber, sliced
- 1/4 red onion, thinly sliced
- 1 cup Greek yogurt
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 clove garlic, minced (for sauce)
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley or dill, chopped
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
- Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks.
- Stir in oregano, paprika, cumin, salt, pepper, and minced garlic.
- Cook for another 2-3 minutes until fragrant and fully cooked.
- In a bowl, mix Greek yogurt, lemon juice, garlic, and parsley or dill to make the sauce.
- Warm pita breads slightly.
- Fill each pita with lettuce, tomato, cucumber, and red onion.
- Add seasoned beef into the pita.
- Drizzle generously with lemon garlic yogurt sauce.
- Serve warm.
