Description

Old Fashioned Peach Cobbler Pound Cake is a rich buttery pound cake loaded with juicy peaches, warm cinnamon flavors, and a sweet cobbler-inspired glaze for a comforting Southern-style dessert.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 5 large eggs
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2 cups diced peaches (fresh or canned, drained)
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F (165°C) and grease a bundt or loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, cream butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  5. Gradually add dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with sour cream.
  6. Stir in vanilla extract.
  7. Fold in diced peaches gently.
  8. Pour batter into the prepared pan and sprinkle brown sugar lightly over the top.
  9. Bake for 75-85 minutes until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  10. Allow cake to cool in the pan for 15 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
  11. Mix powdered sugar and milk to create a glaze and drizzle over cooled cake.

Notes

  • Fresh ripe peaches provide the best flavor.
  • Drain canned peaches thoroughly to avoid excess moisture.
  • Do not overmix the batter for a tender cake texture.
  • Serve warm with vanilla ice cream for a cobbler-inspired dessert.
