Description
Quick and flavorful sticky garlic shrimp coated in a sweet, savory, and slightly tangy sauce—perfect for a fast weeknight meal.
Ingredients
- 400g shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- Salt to taste
- 2 tablespoons chopped green onions
- 1 teaspoon sesame seeds (optional)
Instructions
- Pat shrimp dry and season lightly with salt, pepper, and paprika.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add shrimp and cook for 1–2 minutes per side until pink, then remove and set aside.
- In the same pan, sauté garlic for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add honey, soy sauce, and lemon juice, stirring to combine.
- Pour in the cornstarch slurry and cook until the sauce thickens.
- Return shrimp to the pan and toss to coat evenly.
- Cook for another 1–2 minutes until shrimp are well glazed.
- Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds.
- Serve hot with rice or noodles.
Notes
- Do not overcook shrimp to keep them tender.
- Add chili flakes for a spicy kick.
- Use fresh or frozen shrimp (thawed).
- Great served over steamed rice or stir-fried noodles.
