Description

Quick and flavorful sticky garlic shrimp coated in a sweet, savory, and slightly tangy sauce—perfect for a fast weeknight meal.


Ingredients

  • 400g shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tablespoons chopped green onions
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds (optional)


Instructions

  1. Pat shrimp dry and season lightly with salt, pepper, and paprika.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Add shrimp and cook for 1–2 minutes per side until pink, then remove and set aside.
  4. In the same pan, sauté garlic for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  5. Add honey, soy sauce, and lemon juice, stirring to combine.
  6. Pour in the cornstarch slurry and cook until the sauce thickens.
  7. Return shrimp to the pan and toss to coat evenly.
  8. Cook for another 1–2 minutes until shrimp are well glazed.
  9. Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds.
  10. Serve hot with rice or noodles.

Notes

  • Do not overcook shrimp to keep them tender.
  • Add chili flakes for a spicy kick.
  • Use fresh or frozen shrimp (thawed).
  • Great served over steamed rice or stir-fried noodles.
